validateExtendedProperty

public static java.lang.String validateExtendedProperty(java.lang.String key,
                                                        java.lang.String value)

Validates an Extended Property key and value to ensure that they are not null and that the key is not an empty string. Note that the method requester should use the returned value since the value may be modified to account for Oracle's inability differentiate between an empty string and a null value.

Parameters:

key - the key for the property

value - the value for the property

Returns:

the cleaned value. This value should be used in place of the value passed in to the method.
