New in This Release
This new version of Jive for Outlook includes numerous performance and usability enhancements, including an improved view of discussion threading and helpful visual indicators that show which comments are new and current as well as which answers have been marked Correct and Helpful. It runs off the Extended APIs plugin that also supports Jive Anywhere, Jive for Office, Jive for SharePoint, and Jive for OCS/Lync. Your license will determine which products are activated when you install the plugin.
You can also now do all the following directly in JView without ever leaving Outlook:
- Like documents, discussions, and replies directly in JView
- Mark discussion responses to questions as Helpful or Correct
- Stop getting email notifications about an item in Jive.
And you can easily correct a misidentified contact by using the Contact Manager to
search for the person in a Jive community or a third-party social network.
Before You Upgrade
Before you upgrade from a version earlier than 2.0, please make sure you have removed any earlier versions of Jive for Outlook. Installing the Extended APIs plugin with the old version of Jive for Outlook in place can cause problems.
Known Issues in This Release
- When installing the module on multiple nodes in a clustered environment, you may receive
an upload error for some nodes after the initial node installation. Restarting the
affected nodes fixes the problem.
- Using HDPI may cause some UI issues in Jive for Outlook dialogs
- Some Jive for Outlook dialogs (for example Create Discussion, Convert to Discussion, and Create Private Message) are not displayed correctly when using the GoToMeeting.com service.
