When you set up your environment for using the Jive Video plugin, you need to make sure your firewall is equipped to pass the video stream and other related assets through it. You need to configure your firewall for Flash Media Server (FMS) and for Hypertext Transfer Protocol/Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/HTTPS) delivery because one transfers videos and the other transfers images and files related to the video and video player. The following ports and IP addresses required to set up your firewall:
| IP Address | Ports | Hostname |
|---|---|---|
| Flash Media Server Delivery | ||
| 68.232.32.137 | rtmtpt-80, rtmtp-1935 | fms.08C9.edgecastcdn.net (US) |
| 93.184.222.137 | rtmtpt-80, rtmtp-1935 | fms.08C9.edgecastcdn.net (EU) |
| HTTP/HTTPS Delivery | ||
| 72.21.91.41 | HTTP/HTTPS (80,443) | video-svc.jivesoftware.com (US) |
| 93.184.220.41 | HTTP/HTTPS (80,443) | video-svc.jivesoftware.com (EU) |
Jive Video 5.0.2.1 and earlier may require the following external connection to validate the schema: http://www.directwebremoting.org/schema/spring-dwr-3.0.xsd.
If you are accessing video from outside of the US and EU, you can ping hostnames to find the appropriate IP address for configuring your firewall. For example, type ping video-svc.jivesoftware.com in a terminal and you'll see results similar to PING s1.gs1.wac.edgecastcdn.net (72.21.91.41): 56 data bytes where 72.21.91.41 is the IP address.
