Creating Posts and Replies

Join the conversation and let the world know what's on your mind. Using Fathom Pro, you can engage with people inside and outside your Jive community.

Posts and replies are how you interact with people on the social web. You can point people to interesting content, contribute to conversations about your favorite subjects, or just say what you're doing right now.

You can post from Fathom Pro to your Twitter account, your Facebook account, or both. For Twitter, remember that there is a limit of 140 characters per post. A counter in the bottom right shows your current character count.

Creating a New Post

To create a new post, click New Post in the upper right corner of the app. Then, select the account you want to send your post to, type in your post, and click Post.

Posting a question is a great way to engage your audience. For example, "What's your favorite workplace collaboration tool?" or "Do you like lemon or lime sodas best? Vote here: contentlink."
Find out what #hashtags your audience uses to talk about your favorite subjects and use them in your posts. This will help people find and follow you.
Use the @ symbol to mention a friend or group so that they know you're talking about them. For example, "@jivesoftware, the Jive Apps Market is awesome! Esp that new Fathom Pro app!" or "@siliconflorist has an interesting piece about social enterprises here: contentlink."
Use the scheduler to plan future posts. This is useful when you have a lot to post but don't want to overwhelm your audience with too many posts at the same time.

Replying to Posts

You can reply to a post by clicking the Reply Arrow icon in the upper right corner of the post. Then, type in your response and select the account from which you want to respond. You can reply from Fathom Pro to your Twitter account, your Facebook account, or both. You can @mention another user to let them know you're talking about them, and use #hashtags so that others can find you with a #hashtag search.
