What Changed?

The Fixes in this Release and Notable Issues provide a complete list of resolved problems for the latest 5.0 release. The Known Issues in this Release provides known limitations as of the latest 5.0 release. You can also see fixes and known issues in the original 5.0 release.

New in Version 5.0.1.0

The following list highlights what's new since the last release:

• Configure a time threshold to restrict older SharePoint documents from showing up in activity, recent content, and email notification when they are first streamed.
• Customize a socialized place when SharePoint Server is down or not available.
• Socialize sites without socializing their sub-sites.
• SharePoint server time-outs are now handled gracefully so that Jive users don't have to wait when requesting assets.

New in Version 5.0.0.1

When socializing a site, you now can choose whether or not sub-sites should inherit the socialization of the parent site. For more on this, see Jive Site Settings. If sub-sites no longer inherit the Jive site settings, then you won't see them in the SharePoint widgets and the SharePoint List macro. In order for the SharePoint widgets and SharePoint list macros to use and show sub-sites, those sub-sites must inherit Jive site settings.

• Sites widget: You only see sub-sites that inherit their Jive site settings from their parent site.
• List and Calendar widgets: You can only select lists or calendars from the socialized site or from sub-sites that inherit their Jive site settings.
• List macro: You can only show SharePoint lists within Jive content (for example, Jive document, blog post, discussion) that reside in the socialized site or are in sub-sites that inherit their Jive site settings.

General Upgrade Notes

Upgrade SharePoint Plugin Before Jive Plugin

Jive Connects for Microsoft SharePoint provides a SharePoint plugin and a Jive plugin. You need to upgrade the SharePoint plugin before you upgrade the Jive plugin to avoid unexpected behavior.

Upgrading From Version 1.5.x

Set sharepoint.activity.processing.documentContentTypeOnly property to false

When upgrading from 1.5.1, set the sharepoint.activity.processing.documentContentTypeOnly system property to false to ensure all content types are socialized.

Match cases between SharePoint Location URLs Activity URLs

Before upgrading, make sure the SharePoint location URLs, both External and Internal, match and use the same case as the initial portion of the Activity URL. The initial portion of the Activity URL is the part that mirrors the SharePoint Location URL (see examples). Use the following to locate these URLs.

• SharePoint Location URLs: Log into the Admin Console, then click System > Settings > SharePoint Locations. Edit each SharePoint location so you can note the URL for each one, both internal and external.
• Activity URLs: Log into the Admin Console, then click System > Settings > SharePoint Diagnostics. Select the SharePoint Location you are comparing and proceed to the table that contains the Activity URL.

When the URLs contain different cases, such as one is lowercase and one is uppercase, then the SharePoint Location URL must be changed to match the Activity URL before upgrading.

For example, the following URLs match.

• Activity URL: http://sp2007.flatland.local/sites/HR/_layouts/jive/unas.svc/rss20/getActivity/JivePlaceType/700/0/JivePlaceId/1002?scope=WebRecursive&rowLimit=50

• Location: http://sp2007.flatland.local/sites/HR

For example, the following URLs don't match because "HR" and "hr" are different cases.

Upgrading From Version 1.0.x
