Jive works with most
current web browsers. Note that if you need to use Content Editor features such as cut and
paste, script access to the Clipboard should not be disabled.
Minimum screen resolution: 1024 x 768. Results may vary if you use zoom to adjust your view
to levels other than 100%.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8, and 9
- Apple Safari 4 and 5
- Mobile Safari (for iPad with Jive v4.5.4 and higher)
- Mozilla Firefox*
- Google Chrome*
* The Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers are released frequently. Jive Software makes
every effort to test and support the latest version.
Important Notes and Restrictions
- Beta versions of web browsers are not supported, but they are quickly added to the supported
list after they're formally released.
- Some important Jive Apps Market functionality does not work in Internet Explorer 7. In
addition, Jive 5.0 can be slow with IE7. We recommend trying a newer version or another
browser.
- Apps and the Jive Apps Market are not supported on mobile devices (including the iPad with
Apple's mobile Safari browser). These features may not work correctly on mobile devices.
- Using Jive on an iPad
with Apple's mobile Safari browser has the following limitations:
- no content editing
- no rich text formatting
- no video upload or viewing
- no hover functionality
- The mobile Safari browser on the iPad does not support file uploading. Therefore, any Jive
functionality that depends on uploading files (for example, uploading documents, images,
or attachments) will not work on the iPad because of this limitation in Apple's mobile
Safari browser.
