Managing SSL certificates

SSL certificates can be added to production installations. You can add your SSL certificate by using the Jive Cloud Admin. You can only add certificates to production installations.

Currently, this functionality is not stable, and we do not recommend using it. If you need to add SSL certificates, you should contact Support.

Jive Cloud Admin > Manage SSL Certificates

Note: You can't delete certificates. You should file a Support ticket if you need to delete it.

The following three stages describe the different states of adding your SSL Certificate for a site:

Awaiting CSR : Jive needs to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for your Jive site.

Awaiting certificate : You need to use the CSR to purchase a certificate and then upload it to the Jive Cloud Admin.

Complete : You've completed the steps for providing your certificate to Jive Hosting. Jive Hosting will apply the certificate and secure your site.

To add an SSL Certificate:

  1. Log into Jive Cloud Admin.

  2. If you have more than one site, select the installation you want to update from the Choose an Installation menu.

  3. Click Add SSL Configuration and fill out the following information for the certificate:

    • Vanity URL (CN)
    • Custom UAT Vanity URL
    • 2 Letter Country Code
    • State
    • Locality (City)
    • Organization Name (O)
    • Organization Unit (OU)
    • Email
    • Subject Alternative Names (SANs) Note that the Subject Alternative Names (SANs) are completed with default information. You can change these if you need them.
  4. Click Add Entry. Your site will be placed into the Awaiting CSR stage.

  5. When your site enters the Awaiting Certificate stage, click View CSR or Download CSR.

  6. Use the CSR to purchase an SSL certificate (such as DigiCert) from a certificate provider.

  7. Once you obtain the certificate, click Upload Certificate Details and paste your entire certificate in the field provided. You should include the entire certificate, including the dashes.

  8. Click Upload Certificate and then click Close.
