Jive integrations

With Jive, you can extend functionality in all sorts of ways by using apps, add-ons, modules, and integrations.

External file storage

Using external file storage means that when a user uploads a document, it's stored with a third-party file storage service instead of directly in your community. Files can then be automatically synchronized in both directions, which means you can add or update them from either side. If the storage provider has comment functionality, comments are also synchronized with comments in the group.

Jive currently integrates with the following storage providers:

These connectors provide two-way synchronization between files uploaded to the storage provider and a place in Jive where these files are socialized.

Note: Attachments to Jive are not stored in external storage.

For more information about these connectors, see External file storage.

Tip

You can integrate with many more storage providers with minimal development. If you want to connect a different storage provider to Jive, you can write an integration and use two-legged oAuth to connect your storage provider with Jive. For more information, see Core Help for Add-ons documentation in the Community Manager Guide (http://docs.jivesoftware.com/cloud_int/comm_mgr/jive.help.core/#admin/IntegratingwithjiveServices.htmlhttp://docs.jivesoftware.com/9.0_on_prem_int/sys_admin/jive.help.core/#admin/IntegratingwithjiveServices.html) and visit the Jive Developers site (http://developers.jivesoftware.com).

Unified Communications

If you want your users to be able to use communication apps right inside the Jive interface, you can integrate with these applications in your community using the Add-Ons and Apps functionality.

If your community manager has enabled any of the following communication apps, you can connect to the people you're already talking to online and bring them closer with chat, voice, and online conferencing without leaving Jive.

  • WebEx connector
  • Jabber connector
  • Skype for Business connector
  • Hangouts connector

For more information about these connectors, see Unified communications.
