Installing Plugins

Getting set up includes downloading the plugin and installing it from the Plugins page of the Admin Console. Note that if you later uninstall a plugin, associated data will still be stored in the application, but won't be visible to users.

Downloading Plugin JAR Files

• The Gamification plugin JAR file can be obtained by contacting Support for a license and then downloading it from Thrive.
• The Community Manager Reports (CMR) plugin JAR file can be downloaded from the Community Manager Reports Plugin page on Thrive. This is a free plugin and does not require a license.

Note: After you install either JAR file, you need to restart Jive to make the features available.

Installing the Plugin

To install a downloaded plugin JAR file, follow these steps:

1. In the Admin Console, go to System > Plugins > Add Plugin.
2. Under Install a new plugin, click Browse to select and open the plugin JAR you downloaded.
3. Click Upload to add it to the community.
4. Restart the application as root: /etc/init.d/jive-application restart.

After installing the Community Manager Reports JAR file, you must run the ETL process as described in Running ETL.
